The Falkirk Pot is nestled between mountains and the sea.  It is wonderfully atmospheric and enchanting and perfectly situated for short breaks and long lazy holidays alike.


There is spacious accommodation for up to 8 people and is equally suitable for smaller groups and couples. 


It is situated in Onrus which is just outside Hermanus in the Western Cape.  


Closeby are a natural tidal pool, 'Blue Flag' beaches, 2 lagoons, a nature reserve, world class vineyards and restaurants and for much of the year - the biggest visitors to the area - Whales!!! 


Hermanus is the world's best land based whale watching site.  Popping out for a pint of milk may never be the same for you again!


The house is fresh and stylishly decorated and is equipped to a high standard.


To the front there is a large open garden and a large porch which makes a lovely place to sit and watch the world go by.  Above the porch an extensive sundeck with views of the sea and the mountains.  You can feel the sea air without having to leave the house! 


To the rear a private and enclosed garden is ideal to relax and watch the many exotic birds attracted by the surrounding trees or gaze at the mountains.  Being entirely enclosed its also ideal if you have children.

Incidental Information to help you with your plans.

You may be useful for you to know that the house has got a washing machine and a microwave.  There are also sunloungers and other outside furniture.

I will happily make any recommendations you may wish regarding car hire or courier transport.    The garage is not included in the house rental.

There is no telephone but good reception with a cell phone!  You can hire a sim card from the airport and this will allow you to use your own phone to make cheap local calls when you are there - really usefull for restaurant reservations etc.

The house is protected by SAFE security and there is a safe inside the house.  Codes for using this system will be provided before your arrival date.


We can arrange for very reliable and highly trained domestic help by a close friend either for occassional help or for every day if you wish.  Rates are very reasonable and can really enhance your stay.

The bathroom is fresh yet tranquil. Simple ethnic accessories and scented candles finish it off.   Tiled floors throughout these rooms keep them cool and easy to maintain.
